Cricket News sort by Australia tour of India 2012-13

As India and Australia get set to battle at Mohali, we look back at India’s impressive record at the PCA Stadium in Mohali. Starting with the first Test in 1994, India have played 10 games at the venue, out of which they have won four and lost only one while drawing five others.

Relentless rain washed out the opening day's play at Mohali without a single ball bowled.

If Australia want to look at the one positive from the unenviable position they currently find themselves in, they can probably conclude that things cannot get any worse for them. As if losing the first two Tests without putting up much of a fight wasn’t enough...

In cricket, as in life, it does not take a lot of time for things to turnaround. Last year, when the Indians were in Australia, they couldn’t do a thing right, and kept going from bad to worse as the series progressed.

The axing of the four Australian players from the squad for the Mohali Test for not following team instructions is churlish to say the least. It is a well-known fact that the Aussies are sticklers for discipline, but the harsh action taken against Shane Watson, James Pattinson, Mitchell Johnson and Usman Khwaja is impossible to comprehend no matter what.

With a mini-break in the current series between India and Australia, we try to keep the intensity alive by looking back at players whose careers effectively came to a halt owing to their underperformance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Take a look.

Not satisfied that India is doing a good enough job of it, the Australian tour management has sought to plunge the team into further disarray. Word coming from the Australian camp is that James Pattinson, Shane Watson, Usman Kwawaja and Mitchell Johnson have been removed from consideration for the third test as punishment for their failure to complete a team assignment.

In a shocking development, the Australian team management has dropped four players for the 3rd Test at Mohali on disciplinary grounds. Three of those dropped players are proven match winners – Shane Watson, James Pattinson and Mitchell Johnson. The fourth player is Usman Khawaja who was expected to play the Mohali Test in place of the struggling Phil Hughes.

It has been a few days since Australia were battered and bruised by the Indians at Hyderabad. And, a few more days are left before the two teams lock horns again, at Mohali on March 14.
